Counseling for the Whole Person

Do any of these situations describe you or someone you love?

  • You feel overwhelmed and like life is an uphill battle.
  • You find yourself becoming easily upset or overreacting to everyday challenges.
  • You just don’t enjoy life as much as you used to.
  • You worry more than you think you should.
  • You feel sad or empty much of the time.
  • You’re suffering from long-term depression that won’t heal even though you’ve had therapy.

Depression and anxiety are not your fault. There are many reasons why people suffer from these challenges. While you may feel hopeless and like there are no answers, these conditions can be treated successfully with psychotherapy.

Asperger’s / Neurodiverse Couples

Sometimes relationship issues don’t seem to have a solution. The behavior of one person is counterproductive to communication and connection.  When this happens, the other party can become frustrated and even feel that it is his or her fault. It may not be anyone’s fault—it may be Asperger’s.  Counseling and education can help.

EMDR – Eye Movement Desensitization Reprogramming

EMDR is a psychotherapy treatment for distressing, traumatizing, or negative life events such as rape or military combat that has been deemed effective by numerous professional studies. It is now used by trained therapists to treat all types of trauma, such as that from childhood sexual abuse, physical violence, or accidents.

I'm Kathleen Rapp, Licensed Clinical Social Worker and EMDR therapist. I have helped scores of people heal their traumas using this revolutionary method. There are many ways in which people experience trauma. Some traumas are major, while others result from less severe experiences. You do not have to be a victim of a severe trauma to benefit from EMDR.

Let Me Help

Lasting results are what I offer my clients. Over the past 20 years, I’ve helped hundreds of clients overcome the issues that have kept them from fully enjoying their lives. My approach is holistic, using a patient, accepting, non-judgmental and psycho-spiritual form of therapy. As you work with me, you can expect a supportive and nurturing environment that is results-oriented. Your comfort and trust are paramount to the success of our work together.

Using techniques like Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, or EMDR, a methodology that has been shown to be most effective for victims of trauma, and other innovative techniques (Emotional Freedom Technique or EFT, Guided Imagery, Energy Testing, Relaxation Techniques and other energy psychology techniques), can speed your therapy and help you heal on a deeper level.

It is possible to accomplish and achieve resolution of blockages or issues where traditional talk therapy has been unsuccessful.  Contact me to discuss how I can help you or someone you love.
